We're Hiring! Position: Designer/Frontend (UI) Developer

We currently have openings for Designers/Frontend (UI) Developers and are looking to fill these positions immediately

Amie Street is a different approach to the usual online marketplace for digital music. Our company is entering a stage in its development where we are looking to hire new talented people to expand our team to keep up with demand. General Requirements:

  • You MUST be in the Southern New England area. While the position is offsite, you must be able to spend some time onsite in our offices in Providence, RI.
  • It is absolutely essential that you have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative and innovative environment.
  • It is very important that you are able to work collaboratively with other Amie Street Developers and employees.

Technical Requirements:

  • You absolutely must have an excellent eye for high quality, clean, and innovative design.
  • You must have an excellent ability to communicate and collaborate with management and technical teams.
  • Extensive HTML and CSS experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Javascript is preferred. Experience working with the Prototype Library is an added bonus.
  • You must have very good/expert experience with Photoshop/ImageReady/Illustrator AND/OR Macromedia Fireworks AND/OR Corel Draw.
  • Some knowledge of PHP and SMARTY templating engine preferred, but by no means required.

Are you on Amie Street? Amie Street empowers musicians to release, and music fans to discover, new and independent music in an online marketplace where listeners decide the price. Music fans can search for new music according to price, genre, region, number of recommendations, as well as browsing the homepages of other Amie Street members. Musicians upload their music at no initial cost or risk (Amie Street does not take ownership of the music) and receive 70% of the revenue from each sale. Amie Street is building a community where artists and their audiences can directly interact with one another, leaving the music and the profits where they belong, in the hands of musicians and their fans.

  • You must have a wide knowledge of HTML and CSS.

  • You should have knowledge and experience working in and developing a full Object-Oriented (OO) System.

  • You should have the ability to work with SubVersion (SVN).

  • Having experience using bash and other command line experience is a plus.

  • Any experience with e-commerce is a plus.

Launching the Dev Blog

Just testing out the new account on blogger. This will be the new home of the Amie Street Dev Blog. The point of this blog is a behind the scenes look at Amie Street, the developers mainly and the entire Amie Street crew, and the development process at Amie Street on the whole. More posts to come in the following days along with some template tweaking if possible with blogger.
